Strategic management principles generally and as practiced within CnP enterprises operating within the built and natural environment and demonstrate their importance in industry and commerce today;
Learning strategies and techniques which will allow the student to progress through them professional development stage. The module develops insight into the strategic decision-making processes necessary for organisations to establish and meet organisational goals. It also examines the types of strategies and how they may be successfully utilised; Contemporary analytical techniques are reviewed and evaluated. Factors which influence Corporate Strategy are considered and contextualised in relation to the construction and property industry and constituent enterprises.

When completed this module the students should be able to:

Evaluate the internal and external influences acting upon a diverse industry like construction;
Evaluate strategic decisions taken by CnP enterprises within various sectors of the construction industry – appraise the impact of culture upon CnP enterprise strategic management;
Analyse contemporary approaches to decision-making in CnP enterprises;
The course is composed of a theoretical component, reinforced by a practical component using analysis exercises to consolidate the theoretical concepts learned.

The students in order to receive a certificate document regarding this training in Construction Management must have an average grade higher than 50% in all of the evaluation tests during the period of this formation. The students with Merit with average grades greater than 70% will receive a Distinction Certificate showing the high performance acquired during this training.
